Property ManagementRE/MAX Satellite Network Sets Records
The first and still the only
proprietary real estate television operation, RE/MAX Satellite Network
(RSN) wraps up 2001 with record numbers for site activations and
educational registrations. The August, 2001 announcement of a partnership
with DISH Network brought a flurry of activity as RSN became available in
both RE/MAX offices and in the personal homes of sales associates.
Registrations for designation and continuing education programs totaled
2,243, surpassing last year"s record by 238. Since 1994 RSN has helped
more than 8,500 registrants successfully complete continuing education and
designation courses through distance learning.
Already one of the largest business television networks in the world, RSN
projects numbers to grow much higher in 2002 as offices and agents take
advantage of the newest satellite technology. Each broadcast day, some
2,000 RE/MAX offices and residential sites receive education, technology,
news, and training via the RE/MAX Satellite Network.
The Personal Video Recording Technology offered by DISH Network contains a
35-hour digital hard drive recorder, a smaller dish and free standard
installation for both RE/MAX offices and new sales associate residential
customers. Through a special gift certificate program, "at home"
subscribers can also take advantage of a wide variety of entertainment
programs such as HBO, Showtime, ESPN and RSN programs.
"We have been averaging 155 activations a week" commented Mike Ryan, RSN
vice president. "Since October, more than 900 people have registered for
courses such as CRS, ABR, SRES, QSC, and CFS. We attribute these strong
numbers to the outstanding technology available from DISH Network. With
the 35-hour Personal Video Recorder, busy associates and offices are not
limited to our broadcast day. They can now participate based on their
personal schedules."
